Nick Meier, owner of MeierK9, started his professional training carrier in 2016, but his acquired skills date back all the way to age 14. He first started out as kennel staff in a vet office where he learned basic dog obedience. Then he later took that knowledge and applied it towards training dogs for adoption at a pit bull rescue organization. Nick then moved to Texas and began working on ranches for a short time before he joined the Marine Corp. He then later attended and graduated at a premier, K9 training school, Tarheel. Since then, Nick has been developing his own dog training program. His vision reflects what true training should be and how it should be implemented from start to finish.
MeierK9’s goal is to make positive impacts between both handler and dog with every training session. Nick has not only offers his services all over the USA and Canada, but also in Africa and previously in China.
Training is only one side of the equation with MeierK9. Nick extends his skills and uses them as a platform to better himself as not only a trainer, but also as a competitor who continues to pursue championships with his English Springer Spaniel in the ESSFT. Our weekend warrior British Labs also get some field time to do some pheasant and geese hunting!
So, whether your dog is training for a bird event or sporting event, Nick possesses the knowledge of both sides of the field to help build the confidence needed in competition.
With close to a decade of working K9’s in the United States, Africa and previously in China for Law Enforcement, Special Forces, U.S military, and Private Security Companies, we bring a background that few have been able to achieve in such a short amount of time. We are dedicated to the success of our clients and are not waved by the winds of popular option, but rather the reality of the world we live in. Decoying is not about flashy videos or making ourselves look cool, but about the safety of the K9 and building them up to be the strongest they can be for our clients.
Our services include private lessons, consulting services, K9 selection, decoy workshops, and K9 scenario training.
Being able to be diverse in your field of work is what MeierK9 believes in. Nick’s international travels, Africa specifically, allows for him to use his skills, knowledge, and decoy abilities for a much larger cause. These anti-poaching efforts not only help give back both environmentally and economically, but to also help build long lasting relationships that allows MeierK9 to be a part of something worth fighting for which is conservation.
Apart from our conservation work in Africa to help wildlife, we are also currently the only kennel that is negative on the grid with our complete solar panel system at our facility.
MeierK9 will be out of the office August 15th - 29th. We will respond to all contact requests as soon as we are able!
